THE ROLE OF BOOKS, THE TEACHER AND THE TAUGHT IN THE SOCIETY.

THE ROLE OF BOOKS, THE TEACHER AND THE TAUGHT IN THE SOCIETY.

IL RUOLO DEI LIBRI, DELL'INSEGNANTE E DELL'INSEGNATO NELLA SOCIETÀ.

Books are the treasure - house and assets of man.Books increase our knowledge and perception, judgement and intuitive ingenuity.

Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Rabindranath, Swami Vivekananda , Bertrand Russell, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan were the great thinkers and philosophers.

The Ramayana and the Mahabharata, the Iliad and the Odyssey, the Quran, The Divine Comedy, The Aeneid, Paradise Lost, The Waste Land have a tremendous impact on man' life from the ancient down to the present times.

" Books are the never-failing friends of man." A friend of yours may leave you in the lurch but real and true friend doesn't.

But books are the constant companions till death. We should love books as our property and assets. We must be voracious readers to acquire knowledge.

The teacher and the student play a vital role in society. The teacher is the torch - bearer and pathfinder in society. He leads the paths of illumination and knowledge. He is the clairvoyant and seer. He is the voice of the society. The teacher is the backbone of the society. He moulds the tender minds of the students and helps forming the character of the students.

There is a sweet relationship between the teacher and the taught. The students are thirty for knowledge and light. The teacher kindles and ignites the fire of knowledge for students.

The teacher teaches the students with great sincerity, love and affection, practical experience and knowledge. He infuses interest into the young minds and hearts of the students. He imparts value and moral education among the students. The student is the clay material and the teacher makes the clay pots with love and sincerity and enlightenment. The teacher imparts the joy of learning in the classroom situation. The teacher will have to teach the students in an innovative way. They should draw attention of the students for joyful learning.

The teacher must have social and moral obligations and duties. He should be honest, sincere, dutiful, punctual. The fire of imagination of the students should be enkindled by the teacher. The student in future may be dignified persons like doctor, engeneer, teacher, politician, social activist, orator, poet, writer , author and patriot.

" Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, life to everything."

Plato.

Books have a great role to the readers and particularly to the students and great impact on society as a whole.

Many great men like Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Rishi Aurobindo, Dr. Radhakrishnan, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, T. S.Eliot, W.B.Yeats, Einstein and Satyendra nath Bose are born in this age and have become great. They did much for the welfare of the humanity in their respective fields. They are also the great humanitarian. Our Vivekananda and Rabindranath were great educationists. Swami Vivekanand said ,"Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man." They insisted on the all-round development of man - mental, physical, spiritual, moral and social. They were also students in their young age. So teacher has a pivotal role in society. Parents should be very careful and mindful to their children. Students should be obedient and loyal to the teachers and the superiors.

I ' m the follower of swami vivekananda and his ideas and ideals. He was a great philosopher and thinker. I am still learning and hanker after knowledge. Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan said, " Teaches should be the best minds of the Country". He was a great philosopher and teacher and also the former President of India.

My best regards and respect to the Teacher community and the great dedicated teachers on the International Book and Copyright Day. Thanks and regards to all.
